Purpose & Goals

Gathering of Care 2026 is a annual collaborative, relationship-centered convening rooted in the shared commitment to build authentic, long-term relationships between Tribal and non-Tribal communities throughout Mendocino County. Led in partnership by Consolidated Tribal Health Project, Redwood Community Services, and North Coast Opportunities, this gathering exists to create intentional space for trust-building, reflection, and accountability.

Intended Impact

The intended impact of Gathering of Care is to strengthen the relational foundation necessary for long-term systems transformation, community healing, and sustained collaboration.

The gathering seeks to:

  • Build and repair trust between Tribal communities, service providers, organizations, and systems leaders;

  • Center Tribal voices, lived experience, cultural knowledge, and leadership in conversations impacting Indigenous communities;

  • Support participants in recognizing and interrupting harmful systems, behaviors, biases, and inequities;

  • Encourage deeper cultural humility, accountability, and relationship-based approaches to care and service delivery;

  • Create pathways for continued engagement, shared learning, understanding, and collective action beyond the convening itself;

  • Foster stronger connections across generations, organizations, and communities through shared experience, reflection, and dialogue.

This gathering is grounded in the understanding that meaningful change happens through sustained relationships and transformational engagement. Gathering of Care moves at the speed of trust, prioritizing process, accountability, and human connection over urgency, optics, or institutional performance.

Who this Gathering is For

  • Tribal leaders, Tribal community members, Indigenous knowledge keepers, youth, elders, and cultural practitioners;

  • Non-Native service providers, healthcare workers, educators, facilitators, organizers, and systems leaders;

  • Community-based organizations, funders, decision-makers, and institutional partners committed to relational and equity-centered work;

  • Individuals willing to engage with openness, humility, accountability, and a commitment to ongoing learning and relationship-building.

Participants are invited into the space as learners, collaborators, and relationship-builders willing to listen, reflect, deepen their understanding and engage responsibly.

Please join us to continue building the foundational pieces for access, equity, and collaboration.
